10 Ways To Get Whatever You Want

10 Ways To Get Whatever You Want

Apologies if you are not a Jimmy Cliff fan as this sounds close to the title of his hit track, “You can get it, if you really want”. Also to the younger readers who have no clue what I am talking about.

As stated in the mission statement here, most people get stuck as wantpreneurs because they lack the information on how to get exactly what they want.

Well let’s get started. The ways to be discussed here will have to do with the 4Cs (community, country, continent and company.) where you exist.

The series covering will be released as daily tips, in a short and straight to the point manner. Here are the ways to get it if you really it and become a successful entrepreneur.

Please leave a comment after reading and share if you believe your friends will benefit.

1. Mentality

What do you think? How do you think? There is no need doing anything if you don’t believe it will work 100%.

Please note that this is not saying that every single thing you do will succeed but for any venture to be successful, it is necessary that you, the doer believes 100% that it will successful. “If you think you can do a thing or think you can’t do a thing, you’re right.” – Henry Ford.

Resolve today to change your thinking by feeding your mind with materials that enforce possibility beliefs. A perfect book on thinking is Napoleon Hill’s Think and Grow Rich.

2.   Believe in a Great Future

What do you see for the future? What do you expect in your life every day? What we expect is what we see materialise. You must see with the eyes of your mind, the future you expect for yourself and the 4 Cs and not be discouraged by the current realities. Some people call this faith; ability to call forth those things that were not, as if they are. Eileen Caddy said, “Set your sights high, the higher the better. Expect the most wonderful things to happen, not in the future but right now. Realize that nothing is too good to happen to you. Qualify yourself for great things. Allow absolutely nothing to hamper you or hold you up in any way.”

3.    Commit to a Great Future

Believing is not enough. You must ask yourself the question, “What does this type of future demand from me?” What can I do to help me get there? Vincent Lombardi said “The quality of a person’s life is in direct proportion to their commitment to excellence, regardless of their chosen field of endeavour.” It doesn’t matter how huge your dream is, if you start doing something about it today, you will achieve it.  This is where Darren Hardy’s book “The Compound Effect” comes in handy. In this book, Darren talks about how little actions started today can blow up into something huge in the future (similar to what compound interest does to your wealth). In most case people fail to succeed or loose motivation because of lack of commitment. For anything you want to do, irrespective of how huge or impossible it is, the key is to start today. Find very small things you can start doing to start the journey to your dream destination.

 4.     Create a Set of Values

What really matters to you? What value do you place on what things? Think deeply about these and prioritise accordingly. How would you define success? Most people have been deceived into thinking that success is measured by money. That is a lie! Success can only be measured by how much of your high valued goals are achieved. A man who set out to reduce child mortality by providing the necessary facilities to expecting mothers and children may not be make millions of dollars from it but yet he is successful because his goal has been achieved by the results – reduction in child mortality. It is important that you dissociate success with the amount of money in the bank account as Mother Theresa, Dalai Lama have made great impacts and yet did not have much money.

 5.     Think of a Legacy

Quit criticising others building a legacy and create yours. It has been said that there is no rehearsal in life just the real show. Every single day we are building a legacy one block at a time. Think of what your children and children’s children will think about your achievements. Will they be impressed by your history? Whether we like it or not, our lives are testimonies, be it good or bad. Somebody will emulate our life’s story and the resulting ripple effect will be our contribution. What will yours be? Remember no excuses, as long as you are alive today, you have the opportunity to change your legacy and become a tower of inspiration and an example to several generations. Wouldn’t you like this? I am sure you will.

 6.      Claim Your Spot in the Puzzle

One of my articles on is titled “The Puzzle of Life. In it, I talked about how the world is one great puzzle in to which we all fit in as puzzle pieces. Ask yourself and answer, what is the purpose of my life? How can I use this gift/gifts I have to live a better life and contribute to the 4Cs and the entire world. You are part of the great life’s puzzle and so I encourage you to patiently slot yourself in to the right place and everything will change. Don’t pretend to be what you are not but expand your gift to impact your world! The world is waiting for you to bring those unique gifts. It is you choice to, in the words of Les Brown “live full and die empty”

 7.        Be Alive to change

The world will constantly change and doesn’t require your permission. Are you alive to this? Expect change and prepare yourself to jump in. It is called anticipation and unfortunately most people don’t do this very well. The common reaction to change by the majority is moaning and complaining. According to Zig Ziglar, there is not monument erected for a moaner or complainer. The people who get what they want are people who devote themselves to studying the trends in life and therefore are able to sense or create change. Don’t live in your comfort zone because they don’t last, be willing to try new things. Even when things are stable commit to seek change, study the science and art of changes and apply. Change will come definitely, understand this and you will always get what you want!

 8.      Be a contributor

Are you a builder or a burden? Do your job well, contribute to your organisation and the 4Cs (Community (professional and local), Country, Continent and Company.) Quote; if you live for yourself and family only, you just exist. Your life must be expanded to impact the entire world. The law of Karma, law of compensation, the Christian principle or giving and receiving in several folds and all other world’s religion agree on this one thing, that you will only get when you give. If you cannot find any other reason to give today, let these one inspire you. When you contribute, it expands your life and the 4Cs are better because of you. This will be something to be proud of, isn’t it?

 9.      Refuse to be used

Every bad organisation, country or locality has helpers and collaborators. Refuse to be one of them. At the end of the day, even if you profit from this, it will definitely affect the people you love somehow so indirectly you will be affected. There is also the omission aspect of this, doing nothing when know you should act! Speak up, let your voice be heard, it may not bring change today but in the future it might. Think of Dr Martin Luther King Jnr., he had a dream he spoke up and years down the line after his life most his dreams came through. Do you want change? Refuse to be used for destructive activities and speak up and act against them.

 10.     Your Dream is inside you

The dream is inside you not out there! – The only thing that you will achieve and be satisfied is that dream inside you. Find it and achieve it, and you will be happy. If you keep looking out there and channel your efforts to what’s hot out there, you might achieve it but you’ll be amazed at the feeling of emptiness. Don’t blend in, stand out!! – Mary Beth Storjohann. Pursue that dream inside you and you will surely get exactly what you want and everlasting satisfaction!

Again, this is to your success… 10 Ways To Get Whatever You Want !
